Ozzie, CDX (ASCA & AKC), RA
Ozzie was a unique dog as he had long hair with brindle stripes like a tiger. Ozzie was adopted by Elaine in October, 2000. His age was estimated at two to three years old. Ozzie went on to compete in ASCA obedience, obtaining his CD and CDX, with at HIT from Open A along the way. In 2010, after AKC changed their rules to allow mixed breeds in performance classes, Ozzie went back and obtained his CD, CDX (with a first place in Open A) and his RA. Best guess he was approximately 12 to 13 years old. He was a big boned dog, 65 pounds, which makes this all the more remarkable!
Because of unique look, people often asked what breed he was; we said he was an "Ozzlander"!
In 2012 Ozzie was still getting around and ruling the roost here at Sunny Slope Farm. He still made the rounds to feed the sheep and horses, albeit slowly.
Sadly, Ozzie passed away in November 2013. He lived a wonderful life and is greatly missed.
