aka Ruffi, Ruffles, Ruffian
Ruffi - she's my girl. She goes almost everywhere with me. To the barn for chores, to work, and follows me around the house. She finished her conformation title with four majors, two of them before her first birthday. We started herding when she was a year old. We did not start obedience until she was three years old. She loves herding. Tolerates obedience. She loves to catch moles. She will watch the ground and start digging. Sometimes she gets lucky!
In July of 2012 Ruffi with diagnosed with diabetes. Most likely the result of excess growth hormone related to cysts on her ovaries, possibly acromegaly. She was spayed on August 1, 2012. Ruffi now requires twice daily glucose monitoring and, if required, twice daily insulin injections. It has not slowed her down. In September 2012 she finished her AKC HXAc title. Less than six weeks after being spayed and after almost a year of diagnostic testing to determine the source her health problems. She still loves to herd and we will continue herding. When Ruffi obtained her HXAc title she also qualified for the Australian Cattle Dog Club of America's Versatility Champion title.
She is truly a versatile little cattle dog!!!
